Some interesting facts about the project —
🤝 It's reciprocal business relationship with EZTBALE
🏗 The UX journey connects across two platforms
🥂 The first merchant service on "Card+" APP and website
I was the product designer in charge of UI/UX design for Find Restaurants. It was one of the enhancements in 2018 on Card+ APP and Web channels. My team and I spent four months to release this new feature, striving to create a good foundation for future merchant cooperation.
I worked with my team leader to uncover and deep-dive into insights and translate concepts into design strategies to achieve business goals. Also, created the frameworks and journey to share the vision and design principles.

DBS Card+ Features
• Explore the deals
• Search restaurants
• View details
EZTABLE Features
• Booking
• Payment
Our business relies on partnerships in providing restaurant API. To build a good business relationship with the partner, we decided to make the user journey across two platforms.
The challenge was to encourage customers to proceed to the booking platform.
Scale the current structure to accommodate more new features.
Within the limited budget and timeline, reorganize the existing information architecture wasn't in the planning scope. A short-term solution on the scalability for upcoming features was the second challenge.
To help customers to find the exclusive deals. Seamlessly bring the customers to the booking platform on EZTABLE.
In favor of bringing customers to proceed to the booking process, I tasked to design the landing page with prominent and attractive deals info.
The concept was to create an accessible entry for customers to discover the new merchant service. Moreover, introduce exclusive deals to customers with a handy finding feature
Customers can find the new merchant service when land on the homepage. The quick links scale the limited information architecture without breaking the existing one to exposure more new upcoming features.
Customers can search for the best restaurant deals based on their location, the number of people, and date. The real-time search function helps customers filtering and sorting the restaurants effortlessly.
No matter customers prefer to find restaurants by list view or map view, they can smoothly switch between the tabs. Customers can also browse the different categories to get ideas for their next enjoyable dine-in experience. Meanwhile, the DBS cardholders-only deals are always placed on the top for customers to choose from.
The DBS cardholders-only deals are always placed on the top for customers to choose from. The category list provides customers to filter out their conditions. It's easier for them to make a decision and proceed to the next step.
Customers can dig out more information about the restaurant. The "make a booking" button is sticking at the bottom for them to proceed to the payment flow anytime.
From the website platform, customers can find the nearby deals step by steps through the explicit filter instruction.
Similar to Card+ App, website has the same detailed information. Customers can find best DBS exclusive deals via the web or app platform.
As "Find restaurants" is a simple flow, I didn't manage to get research resources. Thus, through the learning and understanding of fellow designers in the design team on their approaches and thinking, these converts to become one of a source of inspiration for the many designs layout and information structures that I came up with. It helps me to deliver the design outcomes successfully.
I believe there's always have a better solution. If you ask me how you will do if I give you a chance to redesign, I will explain many of my thoughts on this. I won't say this is a success feature for Card+. Instead, I would say we will deliver a better "Find Restaurants" for customers moving forward as we were just on the first step only.
